I’m not entirely sure. I know this had been discussed on the eBay community forums and The Purse Blog (forum.purseblog.com) for a while before I ever wrote this–it wasn’t until Coach decided to mess with a good seller by interfering with her business and falsely accusing her of selling fakes that I got mad enough to blog about it. You might visit those forums and search for archived discussions, where available.

Hi, does anyone know exactly how long Coach has been sending out this “Letter from Hell” to their loyal customers. Judging from the dates of these posts, it seems like it’s been going on for over two years. Any thoughts? Thx

I just got the letter today. I am not even reselling, I am a personal shopper for friends and family.
Anyway, they gave me “weird” look as soon as I stepped into their store today and the manager came and handed me the letter publicly and said ” I am sorry you can no longer shop at any coach store anymore”.. I was like “what?” and I just get out and never want to come back.
This is ridiculous…

I got the letter only two months into reselling!! In hindsight, I was going way too much, I only wish I knew about this potential letter early on, I would have always used cash, and never given my contact info.
I still don’t ithink it’s right, just because they know my name & address, I get the letter. It is quite obvious, when half the customers are buying MULTIPLE items, that they too are reselling. Why even have the limit if you’re gonna discriminate & only send the letter out to a few selected ones. Why not just hand out the letters to anyone who appears to be buying to resell. Yes, that would be half of their customers, they couldn’t afford to do that!! So they single out a few, for what?? I feel discriminated against, because I’m a white american female, I got the letter.
My question is , are there any people out there who got the letter, and were still able to shop at other stores, using cash, without it being an issue?? Thanks

I go to another coach outlet, I pay cash or use a credit card under someone else’s name that I linked to my own credit card. Coach employees could care less. Coach is losing a ton of money in sales, doing discounts they’ve never done before and ask NO questions when making payment. The bottom line is that Coach cut off their nose to spite their face. There is more than one way to skin a cat..very easy to do! Personally, I wouldn’t use a Coach bag, but I do sell them and they sell well. I prefer Gucci and with the prices Coach is charging now for junk bags, you can buy a great designer bag for just about the same amount! I see a gloomy future for Coach.

I am looking for any and all persons who have been publicly humilliated by any represenatives of the COACH organization. I believe they are treating customers this way because they believe , “No ‘one’ customer has the money or resources to fight them” . On the other hand get a couple hundred or maybe a few thousand disgruntled customers together and they just might need to bend their ear, or crack their checkbook. Don’t take this lightly and I would love to hear from some of you COACH supporters AKA employees on here who try to defend unethical and possibly illegal activities on behalf of the COACH company… And Michael Kors has much better designs and quality of bags so they have my business now…I am fighting this fight out of principle not out of necessity.

I too received the “letter” about a month ago. I tried to go back wearing a short wig sunglasses andmakeup that even my spouse and mothe raid they could not recognize me.
I went to a store 1000 mile away from home.Where I never met any of the SA’S before.

I got handed a second letter??? ( no joke I swear)

How facial recognition software? A picture of me in all coachstores to be on the look out??I have no idea, but whatever it was I am a
scared!!!!
I bought coach purses , I sold them and had parties and developed a pofitable side business for myself. I bought to much trusted th SA’s who enabled me by putting stuff aside, bags to shop with, and would give me tips as to what was on sale when. I too had a nasty assistant manager that turned me
in, but I was not handed the letter until I shopped for over a hour had them price check four items, went to the cash wth bags and bags of items and was told that I could not purchase from coach anymore.

Yes I wanted to cry, yes I feel segregated and ashamed, however I did NOTHING wrong. I bought items , I even told them when I had a extra wallet in a bag once so they would not be short, and brought them the money the next day.

Can we fight it?? Maybe, but why bother giving money to a place that treats its best customers this way. One of my customers put it very well ” I have had a Gucci for 20 years and I can turn around today and resell my Gucci
for more than I paid 20 years ago, do you think in 20 years I can sell this swing pack for more than I paid, when everybody and their mother has the same one?”
where will Coach be in 20 years
when they turn away there most loyal customers ??

I too received that Letter. I was also welcomed by all the Associates & Managers and they were ready to hand me the “Big Brown” shopping sacks. I have sold for 4 years, always followed their “only 3 per item” rules, and was not a “mega” seller like quite a few on Ebay still are.
Is anyone out there getting anything going on trying to fight this?? It is not fair to be “targeted” because I used my Charge Card and also had a “2-faced” Asst.Mgr report me. All the while others are still filling bags galore of products , probably paying with cash and selling them on Ebay to this day. Coach could easily stop large purchases from their stores by limiting 8-10 per day or week, but no, they are still allowing purchases with 50 items on the counter. That is why I feel I’ve been treated like a thief, I can’t even take my mother in their store because she can’t buy anything at all if I’m with her??*&^%^
