If any of you are in California and wish to file a complaint against Coach, it is very important for you to do so to help the Attorney General's office recognize the systematic violation of law that is occurring. It can be done online with the following link:

I apologize. Oh boy. I really misunderstood. I thought it was easier than I now think it is to be banned accidentally. I DO NOT think those who ARE resellers necessarily have the rights to complain.

Also. DON'T get embarrassed; get a scene started, instead. They'd better hope someone with bipolar (IMHO we love to shop and we're outwardly emotional) doesn't get banned for merely being a wonderful customer. In fact, when I get upset, I go to Coach. (Only half joking.) Blah, this is sad for fans. Sorry, if this has been nuts; this has already flagged my upsetment meter.

1. Contact news media. (I contacted Current TV, but they might not fit.) Now. And each time you get word.
2. Set up protests outside of outdoor outlets!!! (ONLY persons banned!!!!!!!!)
3. File a class-action lawsuit. Now.

For the sake of Coach-wearing fans!!!!!

I received a letter recently as well and wanted to know if there is any pending litigation or anything that can be done about this. I have been buying Coach for over 3 years and this is a way that I have been supplementing my income. How can this not be against the law? Anyone who has info, please write back.

Well, I just got "The Letter" today. I never heard about it until the sales girl came up to me with her sorry a$$ smile and handed me the letter. I have nothing else to say about Coach other than to encourage friends and family to pass on the word that Coach's SA are like a cult. They stare at you when you walk in and keep tabs on everyone. I am not a thief, nor do I want to feel like I am an outcast when entering a store and to tell you the truth I felt like one when I was going in to the store to pick up purses and wallets as promotional gifts for my husbands company. Ugh, what an experience. All they had to do is just say we don't want your business anymore and saved the paper for their restroom!

My friend got a letter because of me. She went to one store and bought me a purse for my birthday. Mind you, she doesn't do reselling or anything and hardly purchases from Coach. So, I get the bag but since it was white I was afraid of dirtying it so I decided to exchange it. I walked out spending 200 dollars more on a pebble black bag and a wallet for my mother. Of course, being the model of indecision I realized I didn't like what I purchased, it was too big and dark and looked like my grandmother's bag. It looked great in the store but once I took it home, I didn't like it. My mom wanted a different wallet so we both went back and instead she upgraded to a purse and spent even MORE money. We both walked out with two purses and guess what, my friend gets a letter. So I guess you shouldn't even buy a gift for anyone in the off chance that they'll change their mind.

Just like many others on here I too got a call yesterday from my local outlet that they have received a letter (I never received it) that I am no longer allowed to shop there. No further reason was given and the phone number they gave me to call just goes into voice mail. I have been buying Coach bags for about 4 years and have investested probably $5-6000 over the years but I just got addicted to the buying. I was friends with a lot of the SAs at my outlet, they sometimes called me when something that I may like arrived and in general I was always treated very nicely and never told that I'm buying too much, etc. Yes, I have returned a lot of stuff that I bought because I ended up not liking the color, etc but almsot always with receipt and tags. I am extremely upset that a brand that sells their own products at 70% discount (yes, in the last year outlets have been selling many bags at 50% + 30% off) is telling people that they are devaluing the brand. You are devaluing your own brnad, we are just buying it and now apparently this was a mistake. I should have invested my money elsewhere... In any case, I am considering meeting with a lawyer about this not because I plan on continuing to buy their prodict (which I don't because I am so upset) but mostly on principle. I also plan on using various social media outlets and news sites to let others know about how Coach values loyal buyers. So if you have been banned please email me at tikcho@yahoo.com so I can get some facts from others before I take this story to the media.

I definitely think this needs to be turned into a major media story and become a PR crisis for Coach for them to get it through their heads. These Managers at outlets are on a total power trip and probably just feel so inadequate about themselves that they need to assert their authority. I personally don't buy from Coach for myself for the most part as I do believe they are the ones who have downgraded themselves with poor quality and horrible customer service. However, I have lots of friends who like Coach and lots of family from out of country who love it as well. If any of you are of Asian decent as well, I think you know what I mean...when family or friends come to visit, they LOVE hauling a suitcase full of Coach home for themselves & other family or friends. As such, I do buy a lot of items at once (maybe $500 or so) when I go to the outlets once every 3-4 months or so since it is a far drive and I don't have the time to travel there too often--also, I don't like to waste gas and harm the environment by driving so much :)

Anyway, I decided to search this topic because I encountered a problem today. Before today--the last time I encountered a problem was with a manager at Woodbury Commons outlet (I believe her name is Mary Ann) around the holidays (way back in December as I am a college student and usually purchase a lot only during my break--it is spring break right now--with only small purchases on a long weekend every so often).

I just wanted to make note that I don't purchase a ridiculous amount and its reasonable yet I still got extreme attitude and accusations from the same manager I had encountered 4 months ago! So to let all those defending Coach know, they are NOT just targeting resellers. If you are the type who does not go to the outlet often and just likes to stock up on items simply when you see what you believe to be a good deal cause you know you'll need it for presents or whatever else eventually, you may be "flagged" too. In case you're wondering--today I purchased 3 handbags, 6 wrislets--all different styles, colors, and prices, 1 wallet, and 1 pair of gloves.

For the person who wanted to take legal action or anyone else who does, a lawyer friend of mine told me about this law called "First Sale Doctrine" that will cover being able to resell anything you've purchased.

You can just google "First Sale Doctrine" for more info but it basically states that once out of the original manufacturer's hands--they have no right to say what the purchaser can or can not do with what they've purchased.
